Black Forest Cherry Brownies
This is a very simple and healthy yummy dessert, but watch those calories!
Ingredients
4 cups soaked and dehydrated organic walnuts (Soak 2 1?2 cups overnight, rinse well and dehydrate until nuts are dry.)
3?4 cup packed pitted medjool dates
3/4-cup raw carob powder
2 tsp. organic cherry extract
1?2 cup coarsely chopped organic walnuts or almonds (soaked and dehydrated for best results)
1?2 cup dried cherries or raisins
Preparation
Blend 4 cups walnuts in a food processor until it becomes a fine meal. Add dates and continue to puree until well mixed. Add carob and cherry extract and puree again. Mix in the chopped nuts and cherries by hand. Press into a 9″ square brownie pan or spring form pan. Refrigerate for about 2 hours or until firm and slice. Serve with organic sliced cherries on top or another favorite topping.
Your black forest cherry brownies should last for a week or more in your refrigerator or freezer.
TIP: I like to use thawed organic frozen instead of dried cherries and also add raisins. This is a great recipe to add your own creative touch; therefore, have fun playing with it!
